Note 4.4.2: In addition to the potential submission of late data returns by the police forces, a review was carried out on the data before the publication of this bulletin. As a result there have been minor changes to the data for 2008-09 and 2009-10. The amendments that have been made have resulted in there being two extra incidents involving firearms being recorded in 2008-09 and four fewer incidents involving firearms being recorded in 2009-10. These changes in the number of incidents involving firearms have resulted in eight more crimes and offences involving firearms being recorded in 2008-09 and five fewer crimes and offences involving firearms being recorded in 2009-10.
