Guyana. 2010 ‘Brokering.’ National Report of Guyana on its Implementation of the United Nations Programme of Action to Prevent, Combat and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects (UNPoA), p. 4. New York, NY: Permanent Mission of Guyana to the United Nations. 1 June
Guyana is not a small arms producing nation. There are no specific provisions within the Customs Act or Regulations that deal with brokering.
It is nevertheless stressed that Guyana firmly supports the adoption of common standards on small arms and light weapons import, and transit controls, provided that such standards are objective, transparent, non-discriminatory and negotiated through the framework of the United Nations.
