The laws of Zimbabwe control and regulate the passage of SALW through Zimbabwe.
Companies or individuals who intend to use Zimbabwe as transit point must apply to the Controller of Firearms stating the quantity of Consignment, date of passage, name of transporting company. A transit permit is then issued after provision of proof where the SALW were purchased.
The vehicle carrying the Arms is escorted by the Police from port of entry to port of exit and a copy of the temporarily permit is sent to Controller of Firearms by Customs officials confirming that the weapons have reached intended destination.
