10. Acquiring firearms
(1) A person must not acquire a firearm unless the person is the holder of -
(a) a firearms licence of the category appropriate to that firearm; and
(b) a permit in respect of that firearm.
Penalty:
Fine not exceeding 50 penalty units or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years, or both.
(2) A person is to apply for a permit in accordance with Division 1 of Part 3.
