American-made guns are also often used in crimes in other countries. Ninety percent of guns recovered by Mexican law enforcement agencies, and then successfully traced by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), are imported illegally into Mexico from the USA (1).
The same is true for most recovered crime guns in major Canadian cities (2).
