Find Gun Policy Facts

Armed violence prevention, gun control laws and the small arms trade:

Sorry, But Gun Policy News Must Close

It's always been a battle to keep Gun Policy News online. Our daily news bulletins began 18 years ago, but 40,000 articles later I've been obliged to lay off our multilingual staff, simply for lack of funding.

Today I regret that our Twitter feeds, Facebook pages, E-mail groups and RSS news feeds distributed to many thousands of readers in Spanish, French and English must all cease.

GunPolicy.org, the parent Web site of Gun Policy News, will remain visible for as long as possible.

My sincere thanks go to the staff who found and processed news and data on armed violence every day, to our past funders and to our readers for doing the work that you do.

Recent Updates to the GunPolicy.org Web Site

With a two-year grant from the United Nations trust fund UNSCAR and its ten donor nations, in 2015-16 GunPolicy.org located, translated and updated hundreds of thousands of small arms-related data points in its tables and comparative charts. These now document every country in the world, the 50 United States and the District of Columbia.

Although all funding recently ceased, we hope to re-start GunPolicy.org and resume our updates in 2017.
