College Protests Heston Visit

NORTHFIELD, Minnesota — Charlton came to Carleton, and half of the audience wore black. It wasn't a fashion statement.
Much of the thousand-strong crowd at Carleton College was protesting the appearance by Charlton Heston, president of the National Rifle Association. The actor told students Tuesday to ignore political agendas in favor of freedom.
