Quebec Premier Jean Charest is no doubt sincere when he expresses deep sorrow over the death of 18-year-old Anastasia De Sousa in the shooting rampage at Montreal's Dawson College this week. But the instinct to connect her death with the long-gun registry is misguided. The long-gun registry had nothing to do with the attack at Dawson College.
