Artículo 19. Importación y Exportación de Armas, Municiones y Explosivos

Para los efectos del artículo 57 de Decreto 2535 de 1993, el Gobierno Nacional, a través de la Industria Militar puede importar y exportar armas, municiones y explosivos para las personas jurídicas y naturales que así lo requieran, previo cumplimiento de los siguientes requisitos:

a) Personas jurídicas colombianas o extranjeras.
1. Solicitud motivada en la que conste:
a) Clase y cantidad (en volumen) del material por importar,
b) Puerto de embarque;
c) Puerto de llegada al País;
d) Destino final (lugar de almacenamiento);
e) Porcentaje de concentración de los explosivos;
f) Nombre del consignatario;
g) Nombre de la Casa exportadora;
h) Empleo que se le dará al material;
2. Certificado de existencia y representación legal.
3. Concepto favorable expedido por la autoridad militar Competente.
4. Concepto favorable expedido por la Industria Militar.

b) Personas naturales colombianas o extranjeras.
1. Solicitud escrita adjuntando los siguientes requisitos:
a) Certificado judicial nacional vigente y libreta militar.
b) Concepto favorable expedido por el Comandante de Brigada, Unidad Táctica, Base Naval o Aérea, de su residencia.

Article 19. Import and Export of Firearms, Ammunition and Explosives

In accordance with article 57 of Decree 2535 of 1993, the Government, through the Military Industry, may import and export firearms, ammunition and explosives for individuals and legal persons, after complying with the following requirements:

a) Legal persons, Colombian or foreigner:
1. Motivated application which included:
a) Type and quantity (volume) of the material to be imported,
b) Shipment port;
c) Port of entry into the Country;
d) Final destination (storage site);
e) Percentage of explosives concentration;
f) Name of the individual responsible for the delivery;
g) Name of the exporting company;
h) Intended use of the material;
2. Certificate of legal existence and representation;
3. Authorisation issued by the competent military authority;
4. Authorisation issued by the Military Industry;

b) Individuals, Colombian or foreigner:
1. Written application with the following requirements:
a) Valid National Certificate and military service record.
b) Authorisation issued by the Brigade Commander, Tactical Unit [Police], Navy or Airforce Base of his residence.
