Artículo 8. Municiones Permitidas

En cuanto a la munición para armas autorizadas en esta Ley, se permite el uso de munición con ojiva y proyectil del tipo convencional o sólida y del tipo expansivo. Queda prohibido el uso de munición con ojivas o proyectiles de los tipos siguientes:

a) Perforantes;
b) Incendiarias; y,
c) Explosivas, ya sean estas prefragmentadas o detonantes…

Queda prohibido el uso de cartuchos explosivos, ya sea prefragmentados o de detonación, o los cartuchos de tipo Flechette, los cuales son de uso exclusivamente militar.

Act No. 655 of 1999 on the Control and Regulation of Arms, Ammunition, Explosives and Related Materials

Article 8. Authorised Ammunition

With respect to ammunition for firearms authorised under this Act, the use of ammunition with a conventional or solid and expanding bullet and projectile are authorised. It is forbidden to use ammunition with bullets and projectiles of the following types:

a) Armour-piercing;
b) Incendiary; and,
c) Explosives, whether by fragmentation or detonation…

The use of explosive cartridges is prohibited, whether by fragmentation or detonation, or cartridges of the Flechette type, which are solely for military use.
