Artículo 2. Órganos Encargados
El Órgano Ejecutivo en el Ramo de la Defensa Nacional autorizará y supervisará directamente todas las actividades establecidas en el artículo anterior, a través de la Dirección de Logística del Ministerio de la Defensa Nacional. Esta facultad no deberá ser concesionada por razones de Seguridad Nacional. El Ministerio de Gobernación, a través de la Policía Nacional Civil tendrá la función de prevenir y combatir las infracciones a lo dispuesto en la presente Ley, a efecto de garantizar la Seguridad Pública. A efecto del cumplimiento del Artículo anterior se deberá crear una base de datos informática que permita mantener información, con la mayor exactitud posible de la huella balística del arma.

Act No. 655 of 1999 on the Control and Regulation of Arms, Ammunition, Explosives and Related Materials
Article 2. Responsible Authority
The executive body of National Defence shall authorise and supervise directly all activities established in the previous article, through the Logistics Directorate of the Ministry of National Defence. This prerogative shall not be conceded for reasons of National Security. The Ministry of the Interior, through the Civil National Police, is responsible for preventing and combating infringements of the provisions of this Act, in order to ensure public security. To comply with the previous Article, a computerized database shall be created to record information with the highest possible accuracy on the ballistic fingerprint of each firearm.
