Artículo 12 - Armas de fuego de uso civil

Son todas aquellas armas de fuego no automáticas que por sus diseños, calibres y características admiten su posesión por la población civil en el modo y forma de su reglamentación por la autoridad competente; y se clasifican en:

a) armas de fuego de defensa personal;1
b) armas de fuego de uso deportivo; y,2
c) armas de fuego de colección.3

Article 12 - Firearms for Civilian Use

Non-automatic firearms that by design, calibre and characteristic are allowed to be possessed by civilians in the manner and form of their regulation by the competent authority. They are classified as the following:

a) Firearms for self-defence;1
b) Firearms for sporting activities; and,2
c) Firearms for collectors.3
