Artículo 16. Personas Prohibidas

No pueden portar ni tener armas de fuego las siguientes personas:

a) los menores de dieciocho (18) años de edad;
b) las personas que hayan padecido o estén padeciendo de enajenación mental o de epilepsia;
c) los beodos habituales;
d) las personas que han sido condenadas a penas aflictivas e infamantes o infamantes o intencionales;
e) los condenados por los delitos de robo, estafa, abuso de confianza, fullería y otros de igual natural; y
f) las personas que estén sometidas a la acción de la justicia, mientras estén subjudice y si se ha dictado mandamiento de prisión.

Act No. 36 of 1965, on the Commerce, Carrying and Possession of Firearms

Article 16. Prohibited Persons

None of the following people shall own or carry firearms:

a) those younger than eighteen (18) years old;
b) those who may have suffered or are suffering from mental disabilities or epilepsy;
c) habitual drunkards;
d) those who have been convicted for defamation or intentional crimes;
e) those convicted for theft, fraud, trust abuse, cheating and similar acts; and
f) those currently subject to legal procedures, whilst they are sub judice or subject to an arrest warrant.
