En los casos que considere de interés público, el Presidente de la República podrá autorizar a cualquier persona la tenencia y porte de cualquier tipo de arma. Esta tenencia es provisional y estará sujeta a revocación cuando éste lo considere necesario.

Act No. 36 of 1965, on the Commerce, Carrying and Possession of Firearms

Article 8. Special Authorisations

In cases considered to be of public interest, the President of the Republic may authorise whomever to possess and carry whatever type of firearm. This ownership is temporary and is subject to revocation whenever deemed appropriate.
