Small Arms and Light Weapons of the Revolutionary Armed Forces Ministry

3. In Cuba, the vast majority of small arms and light weapons are owned by the Revolutionary Armed Forces Ministry (MINFAR) and the Ministry of the Interior (Interior Ministry) and are used for national defense and security. Both Ministries have put into place necessary mechanisms for the rigorous and regular control of the latter and carry out procedures to guarantee the security of their stocks, thus maintaining a low level for the loss or diversion of firearms in their possession.
