Artículo 64. Autorización para la Producción de Armas

Se concederá autorización para la producción de armas, municiones, explosivos y accesorios de uso civil previa solicitud al Ministro de Defensa Nacional e informe favorable del Comando Conjunto, de acuerdo a necesidades nacionales, y las siguientes regulaciones:

Armas

Escopetas calibre del 10 al 410; pistolas hasta el calibre 9mm o su equivalente; revólveres hasta el calibre .38 o su equivalente; y, otras armas cuyo tipo y calibre determinará el Comando Conjunto, previa solicitud y justificación del interesado.

Municiones y Explosivos

La producción estará de acuerdo a las necesidades del país, y en los tipos y características determinadas por el Comando Conjunto de las Fuerzas Armadas.

Article 64. Authorisation for Firearm Manufacture

Authorisation for the manufacture of firearms, ammunition, explosives and accessories for civil use may be granted subject to a prior request to the Ministry of National Defence and a favourable report of the Joint Command, in accordance with national necessities and the following regulations:

Firearms

Shotguns of calibre from 10 gauge to .410; pistols with a calibre not greater than 9mm or its equivalent; Revolvers with a calibre not greater than .38 inches or its equivalent; and other weapons whose type and calibre will be determined by the Joint Command, subject to a request and justification of the applicant.

Ammunition and Explosives

The manufacture shall be in accordance with necessities of the country, and of the types and characteristics determined by the Joint Command of the Armed Forces.
