Sanciones a las Infracciones a la Ley

Artículo 55. Sin perjuicio de la Responsabilidad Penal a que hubiese lugar, las infracciones a la presente Ley y su Reglamento, serán sancionadas de la forma siguiente:

1) De un (1) hasta diez (10) veces el salario mínimo mensual más alto, que este vigente en el sitio donde se cometió la infracción, según la gravedad de la misma y la capacidad económica del infractor, cuando se trate de persona natural; en los casos de persona jurídica de diez (10) hasta cincuenta (50) salarios mínimos mensuales más altos, según el sitio donde se cometió la infracción;

2) Suspensión temporal de autorizaciones o licencias por un mínimo de seis (6) meses y un máximo de dos (2) años, según la gravedad de la infracción; y,

3) Cancelación definitiva de autorizaciones o licencias.

Penalties for Violations of this Act

Article 55. Without prejudice to criminal liability, violations of this Act and its Regulations shall be punished as follows:

1) One (1) to ten (10) times the highest monthly minimum salary for an individual, depending on the seriousness of the crime and the economic status of the offender; ten (10) to fifty (50) times the highest monthly minimum salary in cases regarding legal persons, depending on where the offence took place;

2) Temporary suspension of permits or licenses for a minimum of six (6) months and a maximum of two (2) years, depending on the seriousness of the offence; and

3) The indefinite cancellation of permits or licences.
