Firearms Confiscated during Day-to-day Operations

To address the proliferation of firearms with the focus on the tracing of illegal firearms and the testing of legal compliance, 20,145 firearms and 236,905 rounds of ammunition were confiscated during day-to-day operations as indicated in table 14, compared to 25,615 firearms and 264,720 rounds of ammunition in 2011/12.

These recoveries include firearms stolen or lost during previous financial years.
