Le ministre de l'intérieur peut autoriser par arrêté toute personnalité étrangère séjournant en Nouvelle-Calédonie, ainsi que les personnes assurant sa sécurité, sur la demande du gouvernement du pays dont cette personnalité est ressortissante, à détenir, porter et transporter une arme de poing relevant d'une catégorie et présentant certaines caractéristiques et, dans les limites fixées au premier alinéa du I de l'article 39,1 les munitions correspondantes.

L'autorisation ne peut être délivrée pour une durée supérieure à celle du séjour en Nouvelle-Calédonie de la personnalité.

Article 71

The Minister of Interior may authorise by order any foreign person staying in New Caledonia, as well as security personnel, upon request from the government of the country of which this individual belongs, to possess, carry and transport a handgun, of a category and with certain characteristics, and, within the limits set by the first paragraph of I of Article 39,1 the corresponding ammunition.

The authorisation may not be issued for a duration longer than the stay in New Caledonia of the person.
