11. Disarmament of Military and Paramilitary Forces within the Ceasefire Zone

(1) The Commission with the support of the external stakeholders such as UN DDR, UNDP and other donor organisations shall develop a programme to disarm the surplus Military and Paramilitary Forces within the Ceasefire Zone.

(2) The overall strategy for meeting the mandated military component of arms control is to:

(a) provide neutral and transparent monitoring;

(b) data collection and documentation;

(c) technical support and verification to control arms and ammunitions during the disarmament of forces;

(d) disarm according to the CPA and compile small arms, light weapons and ammunitions; and

(e) establish database to provide transparency, and accountability during demobilization, stockpiling and reduction of arms.
