Organe national de coordination

Le code de la défense désigne le ministre de la défense comme autorité gouvernementale chargée d'une action de centralisation et de coordination pour la règlementation et l'orientation du contrôle de l'État sur la fabrication et le commerce des armes; il dispose à cet effet du Contrôle General des Armées (CGA). Les travaux de recherche portant sur les actions visant a prévenir, maitriser et éliminer le commerce illicite des armes légères et de petit calibre incombent principalement à la Direction des affaires stratégiques (DAS) du ministère de la défense, tandis que les opérations de destruction, soit des stocks excédentaires, soit des armes saisies en opérations extérieures relèvent des Etats-majors.

Par ailleurs, le Secrétariat General de la Défense et de la Sécurité Nationale (SGDSN) assure au niveau du Premier ministre, la coordination gouvernementale de toutes les mesures et directives relatives au contrôle des exportations d'armes.

National Coordination Agency

The National Defence Code designates the Minister of Defence as the governmental authority in charge of the centralisation and coordination for the regulation and orientation of State control over the manufacture and the trade in arms; To this effect, it has control over the General Command of the Armies (CGA). Research work concerning the activities aiming to prevent, control and eliminate the illicit trade in small arms and light weapons comes within the competence of the Directorate of Strategic Affairs (DAS) of the Ministry of Defence, while the destruction operations of surplus arms or arms seized during operations abroad comes within the competence of the High Command of the Armies.

Furthermore, at the level of the Prime Minister, the General Secretariat of the Defence and National Security (SGDSN) ensures the governmental coordination of all measures and directives related to the control of the export of arms.
