Destrucción de armas pequeñas y ligeras

El Gobierno del Perú, en aplicación de los instrumentos internacionales relacionados con las armas pequeñas y ligeras y municiones ha venido realizado actividades de destrucción de armas desde el año 2002.

- En el 2008, la Policia Nacional del Peru destruyó, bajo el método de la fundición, un total de 34,765 armas pequeñas y ligeras de uso policial, obsoletas y dadas de baja por dicha institución. La citada destrucción contó con el apoyo del UNLiREC y fue realizada en tres fases.

Con el producto de estas destrucciones se elaboraron instrumentos para arados y zapapicos, los mismos que fueron entregados a los agricultores de Puno y el Valle de los rios Apurimac y Ene - VRAE

Destruction of Small Arms and Light Weapons

Under the International Instruments programme related to small arms and light weapons and ammunition, the Government of Peru has been taking part in destruction of weapons activities since 2002.

- In 2008, using the method of smelting, the National Police of Peru destroyed a total of 34,765 small arms and light weapons that were used by police, declared obsolete and written off by the institution. The above destruction was supported by UNLiREC and was conducted in three phases.
