A-4.2. Détention illégale des armes légères et de petit calibre
Les dispositions de l'Ordonnance n° 97-06 du 21 janvier 1997 sus visée prévoient les peines suivantes pour sanctionner l'acquisition ou la détention des armes et munitions, sans l'autorisation de l'autorité dûment habilitée:
- article 31: l'emprisonnement de 5 à 10 ans assortie d'une amende de 1,000,000 à 2,000,000 millions de dinars algériens pour l'acquisition ou la détention des armes des 1ère, 2ème et 3ème catégories;
- article 32: l'emprisonnement de 2 à 10 ans assortie d'une amende de 500,000 à 1,000,000 de dinars algériens pour l'acquisition ou la détention des armes de la 4ème catégorie;
- article 33: l'emprisonnement de 2 à 5 ans assortie d'une amende de 100,000 a 200,000 dinars algériens pour l'acquisition ou la détention des armes de la 5ème catégorie.

A-4.2. Illegal Possession of Small Arms and Light Weapons
The provisions of Ordinance No. 97-06 of 21 January 1997 mentioned above provide the following sanctions to punish the acquisition or possession of weapons and ammunition, without the authorization of the duly authorized:
- Article 31: Imprisonment from 5 to 10 years and a fine from 1,000,000 to 2,000,000 millions Algerian dinars for the acquisition or possession of weapons of first, second and third categories.
- Article 32: Imprisonment from 2 to 10 years and a fine from 500,000 to 1,000,000 Algerian dinars for the acquisition or possession of weapons of the fourth category.
- Article 33: Imprisonment from 2 to 5 years and a fine from 100,000 to 200,000 Algerian dinars for the acquisition or possession of weapons of the fifth category.
