Afin d'assurer un contrôle effectif sur les armes légères et de petit calibre dans les domaines de la fabrication, l'exportation, l'importation, le transit et la réexpédition, l'Algérie a adopté les textes législatifs et réglementaires suivants:
- Loi n° 79-07 du 21 juillet 1979, modifiée et complétée, portant Code des Douanes, article 127;
- Ordonnance n° 97-06 du 21 janvier 1997, relative aux matériels de guerre, armes et munitions, publiée au Journal Officiel n° 6 de l'année 1997;
- Décret exécutif no 98-96 du 18 mars 1998 modifié et complété par le Décret exécutif n° 04-304 du 13 septembre 2004, fixant les modalités d'application de !'Ordonnance n° 97-06 du 21 janvier 1997 relative aux matériels de guerre, armes et munitions, publies aux J.O n° 17/1998 et n° 60/2004;

Legislative and Regulatory Framework
To ensure an effective control on small arms and light weapons in the areas of manufacturing, export, import, transit and transhipment, Algeria has adopted the following laws and regulations:
- Law No. 79-07 of 21 July 1979, as amended and supplemented with the Customs Code, Article 127;
- Ordinance No. 97-06 of 21 January 1997, on military equipment, weapons and ammunition, published in the Official Journal no. 6 of the year 1997;
- Executive Decree No. 98-96 of 18 March 1998 as amended and supplemented by Executive Decree No. 04-304 of 13 September 2004 laying down detailed rules for applying the Ordinance No. 97-06 of 21 January 1997 on war materials, weapons and ammunition, published in the No. 17/1998 and No. 60/2004 Official Journals;…
