Artículo 9. Armas de Uso Restringido

Las armas de uso restringido son armas que de manera excepcional, pueden ser autorizadas con base en la facultad discrecional de la autoridad competente, para defensa personal especial, tales como:

a) Los revólveres y pistolas de calibre 9.652mm. (.38 pulgadas) que no reúnan las características establecidas en el artículo 11 de este Decreto;

Parágrafo 2. El Comité de Armas del Ministerio de Defensa Nacional podrá autorizar la tenencia o porte de armas de uso restringido, a las empresas transportadoras de valores, departamentos de seguridad de empresas y a los servicios especiales de seguridad, previo concepto favorable de la Superintendencia de Vigilancia y Seguridad Privada.

Parágrafo 3. El Gobierno Nacional reglamentará el número máximo de armas de este tipo que en cada caso puedan portar los particulares.

Paragraph 2. The Arms Committee of the Ministry of National Defence may authorise the possession or carrying of restricted firearms by security transportation companies, corporate security departments and special security services, providing the Superintendency of Surveillance and Private Security gives a favourable determination regarding this matter.
