Parallèlement, plusieurs entités de la Police nationale haïtienne remplissent un rôle déterminant dans le contrôle de la circulation des armes légères en Haïti. Ces entités permettent l'opérationnalisation des procédures relatives à l'obtention des permis de port et de détention d'armes. Il s'agit du:

– Bureau de port d'armes qui s'occupe de l'étude des dossiers soumis relatifs aux permis de port et à la détention d'armes;

– Bureau de renseignement judiciaire qui s'occupe de la collecte et de l'exploitation des informations relatives aux détenteurs d'armes à feu;

– Bureau de la Police technique et scientifique qui a la capacité d'expertiser une arme.

Ainsi, 20,379 armes à feu de petit calibre ont été régulièrement enregistrées à la section des permis de port d'armes de la PNH et sont réparties comme suit:

– 8,298 pistolets
– 6,353 revolvers
- 5,728 fusils de calibre 12

In parallel, several entities of the National Haitian Police have a decisive role in controlling the circulation of small arms in Haiti. These entities allow the implementation of procedures concerning the acquisition of a permit to carry or possess a firearm. Those are:

- The Office for Gun Possession, which deals with the study of the applications concerning permits to carry or possess a firearm.

- The Office for Legal Records, which deals with the collection and exploitation of information relating to firearm owners.

- The Office of Scientific and Technical Police, which can evaluate a firearm.

20,379 small calibre firearms have thus regularly been registered at the department for permits to carry weapons of the NHP.

- 5,728 12 mm calibre rifles
