Marking, Record Keeping and Tracing

Licensed SALW manufacturers are obligated to mark every firearm in an appropriate and reliable way.

The marking done by the manufacturers allows for every firearm to be identified. The different manufacturers are also to be identified through the marking.

The firearms and the marking are recorder in the possession permit, which enables the competent authorities to identify and to trace the firearm when necessary.
