Artículo 66. Solicitud del Permiso de Importación de Armas

Las personas físicas y jurídicas que tengan vigente el permiso regular para importar armas y municiones por cada importación que realicen de dichos productos debe solicitar el debido permiso al Departamento, mediante solicitud por escrito en forma personal por el interesado o debidamente autenticado indicando cuando corresponda lo siguiente:

a) Nombre y apellidos, calidades completas y domicilio exacto del interesado o del representante legal de la sociedad.

b) Nombre del establecimiento comercial, domicilio exacto y número de cédula jurídica.

c) Características, cantidad y procedencia de las armas y municiones y lugar de desalmacenaje.

Deben estar al día con el Departamento con respecto a la entrega de informes actualizados del establecimiento comercial sobre ventas de munición, armas permitidas y existencias en bodega. Cuando la solicitud de permiso rebase la cantidad de cien armas el Departamento deberá enviar la solicitud al Ministerio para la respectiva autorización.

Article 66. Applying for the Licence to Import Arms

Individuals and legal entities that have the regular licence to import arms and ammunition must request a permit each time they intend to import such products to the Arms and Explosives Control Department. The application must be submitted in writing and in person by the applicant. If the applicant is not personally filing the application, it must be certified by a lawyer. It must contain:

a) Name and exact address of the applicant or the legal entity's representative.

b) Name of the business, exact address and corporate identification number.

c) Characteristics, amount and origin of the arms and ammunition and also where they will be cleared by Customs.

The applicant must have sent to the Department the latest reports about the sale of ammunition, permitted arms and stockpile. When the application includes more than one hundred arms, the Department must send it to the Ministry of Security who will be in charge of processing it.
