Artículo 33. Requisitos para Inscribir Armas

Toda persona que adquiera una o más armas permitidas, de cualquier tipo, está obligada a solicitar su inscripción al Departamento. La solicitud se presentará por escrito y en ella se indicará, por lo menos, la marca, el calibre, el modelo y la matrícula del arma, la cual se mostrará en el mismo acto.

Además, deberá demostrar, en la forma que determine el reglamento, su conocimiento de las reglas de seguridad, el manejo apropiado del arma y los fundamentos de su funcionamiento.

Article 33. Requirements to Register Firearms

Anyone who acquires one or more permitted arms of any kind is required to apply for registration at the Arms and Explosives Control Department. The application shall be submitted in writing and shall contain at least the make, caliber, model and serial number of the arm, which must be shown during the registration procedure.

In addition, the person must demonstrate, according to the procedure established by the Regulation, that he/she knows safety rules, how to handle an arm properly and the basic information about its functioning.
