Structure of the Register

The State register of official and civilian weapons (hereinafter "the Register") is a system containing information on the models of official and civilian weapons and the types of ammunition the circulation of which is permitted in Azerbaijan.

The Register is established, maintained and published by the State Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Patents (hereinafter "the Agency").

Models of weapon and types of ammunition are included in the Register on the basis of a certificate of compliance issued or recognized under the established procedure in Azerbaijan.

The Register comprises the information referred to in the relevant regulations, namely:

- Official weapons and ammunition manufactured in Azerbaijan;
- Official weapons and ammunition manufactured in other countries;
- Civilian weapons and ammunition manufactured in Azerbaijan;
- Civilian weapons and ammunition manufactured in other countries.

The information on weapons and ammunition manufactured in Azerbaijan includes:

- The name, model (brand), type and number;
- A colour photograph and a sketch of the weapon's assembly;
- Basic technical specifications;
- The name of the designer and manufacturer;
- The results of certification testing conducted under the established procedure in Azerbaijan;
- The results of certification testing conducted under the established procedure in Azerbaijan;
- The name of the laboratory that conducted the certification tests…

The import into Azerbaijan of official and civilian weapons and ammunition manufactured in other countries is permitted following certification of the model of weapon type of ammunition concerned and the inclusion in the Register of the information indicated in this paragraph.
