Collection and Destruction

In 2008, the Republic of Belarus seized 806 unregistered firearms of various kinds, including small arms and light weapons and another 5,000 unregistered or registered firearms, also including small arms and light weapons, were voluntarily surrendered.

In 2009, 1,100 unregistered small arms and light weapons were seized and 1,174 were voluntarily surrendered.

In 2009, seven individuals were prosecuted under criminal law and 478 individuals under administrative law for unlawful acts relating to weapons, ammunition or explosive substances or devices.
