7C. Possession of a traffickable quantity of unregistered firearms

(1) A person must not possess more than 3 firearms that are not registered.

Penalty: 1200 penalty units or 10 years imprisonment.

(2) Subsection (1) does not apply if, in respect of any one of the 3 firearms, the person has given a notice to the Chief Commissioner under section 115.

(3) A person who is convicted or found guilty of an offence against subsection (1) is not liable to be convicted or found guilty of an offence against section 5(1A), section 6A(1), (2) or (3) or section 7B(1) or (2) in respect of possession of the same firearms at the same time.
