Section 42: Acquisition permit (601/2001)

The police department for the applicant's municipality of residence or registered office grants and revokes a permit for the acquisition of a firearm and firearm component (acquisition permit).

The Ministry of the Interior, however, grants and revokes a permit for the acquisition of a specially dangerous firearm and its component.

An acquisition permit also entitles the holder to temporarily possess a firearm or firearm component.
