4. Importation of Firearms, etc., into Belize

1) The procedures to be followed when importing any firearms, firearm parts and/or components are:-
a) the Ministry of National Security shall issue an Import Certificate to an applicant who meets the legal requirements of the Act and any other relevant laws of Belize;

b) the importer shall provide an original or certified copy of the Import Certificate to the exporter for presentation by the exporter to the authorising agency of the country of export;

c) the Ministry of National Security, upon confirming that the contents of the shipment and the identity of the importer or the final recipient are in accordance with the information specified in the Import Certificate, Export Certificate or export attachment document, and that the importer or final recipient meets the applicable legal requirements as provided under the Act or other relevant laws of Belize, shall release the shipment to the person who satisfies it that he is the authorised representative of the person identified in the Import Certificate.
