Records on Holding and Transfer

The Canadian Firearms Registry contains information on licences, authorizations, registration certificates, prohibition orders and other information collected under the authority of the Firearms Act.1

Following the entry-into-force of the Public Agents Firearms Regulations, firearms possessed by governments and police agencies, with the exception of those held by the Canadian Forces, will be recorded in the Canadian Firearms Registry.
