To date, approximately 1223 firearms dealer licences have been issued in Australia. This figure includes commercial and private individual dealer licences.

The most populous states are NSW with 393 firearms dealer licences issued, Victoria with 300, Queensland with 280, SA with 132, and Tasmania with 118 (includes people in partnerships).
