Section 39. Governor in Council may prohibit the carrying of firearms

(1) It shall be lawful for the Governor in Council to prohibit by proclamation the carrying of firearms in any district or part of the Territory and any such proclamation to cancel or alter as he shall think fit.

(2) Any person who carries firearms in contravention of the provisions of such proclamation shall be guilty of an offence against this Ordinance and on summary conviction thereof be liable to a penalty not exceeding two thousand dollars or imprisonment for a period not exceeding two years, in addition to the forfeiture of such firearms.
