34. Duration of Licence or Permit

(1) Subject to sections 18, 36 and 461 and to the payment in each financial year of the appropriate duty prescribed by section 44, every licence shall continue in force for one year from the day on which it is granted.

(2) Subject to sections 36 and 46,1 every permit, except a Firearm User's (Special) Permit, shall continue in force until the act authorised to be done by such permit has been done or the expiration of the period specified in such permit, which ever shall first happen.

(3) Subject to sections 36 and 46, every Firearm User's (Special) Permit shall continue in force until the revocation or expiration of the order applying section 222 to the area, parish, district, town or village to which such permit relates.
