Articulo 21. Tipos de Armas de Uso Deportivo y Caza

Para los efectos del artículo 12 de la Ley, se consideran armas de uso deportivo las siguientes:

- Fusiles .22
- Revólveres .22 hasta el calibre .45
- Pistolas de calibre .22 hasta el calibre .45
- Escopetas automáticas y cañón doble para tiro deportivo
- Fusiles de alto poder de repetición calibre .22 mágnum hasta el calibre 7.62 mm.
- Otras armas avaladas por la federación nacional e internacional de tiro deportivo, siempre y cuando sean aceptadas y autorizadas por la autoridad de aplicación.

Se consideran armas para cacería, las siguientes:

- Fusiles desde el calibre .17 hasta el calibre 7.62 mm.
- Carabinas comprendidas desde el calibre .22 hasta el calibre 7.62 mm.
- Escopetas desde el calibre 12 hasta el calibre 410.

En normativa anexa a este Reglamento se definen diseños, calibres y otras especificaciones técnicas.

Decree No. 28-2005, Regulation to the Special Act on the Control and Regulation of Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives and Other Related Materials

Article 21. Types of Firearms for Sports and Hunting Purposes

In accordance with Article 12 of the Act, the following are considered firearms for sports purposes:

- Rifles [of calibre] .22
- Revolvers .22 up to calibre .45
- Pistols from calibre .22 up to calibre .45
- Automatic and double-barrel shotguns for sports shooting
- High repeating power rifles from calibre .22 magnum up to calibre 7.62 mm
- Other firearms permitted by the national and international shooting federation, so long as they are accepted and authorised by the application authority

The following are considered hunting firearms:

- Rifles from calibre .17 to calibre 7.62 mm
- Carbines from calibre .22 up to calibre 7.62 mm
- Shotguns from calibre 12 to calibre 410.

The norm annexed to this Regulation helps define designs, calibers and other technical features.
