During 2003–04, 46 identified offenders used a firearm to commit homicide.

Of these, two used a registered firearm (4%) while five were licensed to own a firearm (11%), reflecting a decrease from the proportion of offenders licensed and registered in 2002–03 (16 per cent licensed and 14 per cent registered).
