Article 159
I. L'acquisition et la détention, en France, par un résident d'un autre Etat membre de l'Union européenne des armes relevant des 6°, 7° et 8° de la catégorie B1 et des armes des a, b, c, g, h, i, j et k du 2° de la catégorie D2 sont régies par les dispositions du chapitre II du titre Ier du livre III du code de la sécurité intérieure.
II. En application de l'article L. 2335-17 du code de la défense, le transfert à partir d'un autre Etat membre de l'Union européenne vers la France, des armes, munitions et leurs éléments des 6°, 7°, 8° et 9° de la catégorie B et des armes des a, b et c du 2° de la catégorie D est soumis à l'autorisation mentionnée à l'article L. 2335-13 du même code et à ses textes d'application.
III. Le transfert des armes, munitions et leurs éléments mentionnés au II, renvoyés vers la France après exposition ou réparation, est dispensé d'autorisation.
Le transfert temporaire en France des armes de poing et des munitions, dont le port est autorisé par arrêté du ministre de l'intérieur en application de l'article R. 315-54 du code de la sécurité intérieure, est également dispensé d'autorisation.

Decree No. 2013-700 of 30 July 2013 on the Implementation of the Act No. 2012-304 of 6 March 2012 on the Establishment of a Modern, Simplified and Preventive Control of Weapons
Article 159
I. The purchase and possession, in France, by a resident of another Member State of the European Union, of firearms of 6°, 7°, and 8° of category B1 and of firearms of a), b), c), g), h), i), j) and k) of 2° of category D,2 are governed by provisions of Chapter II of Title I of Book III of the Internal Security Code.
II. According to Article L. 2335-17 of the Code of Defence, the transfer from another Member State of the European Union to France of firearms, ammunition and their components of 6°, 7°, 8° and 9° of category B, and of firearms of a), b), and c) of 2° of category D, is subject to the authorisation referred to in Article L. 2335-13 of Code aforementioned and its implementing rules.
III. The transfer of firearms, ammunition and their components mentioned in II, sent back to France after an exhibition or after their repair, is exempted from authorisation.
The temporary transfer in France of handguns and ammunition, whose carrying is authorised by order of the Minister of the Interior, according to Article R. 315-54 of the Internal Security Code, is also exempted from authorisation.
