Article 2. Sous-section 1. Armes de catégorie A

Les matériels de guerre et armes interdits à l'acquisition et à la détention qui relèvent de la catégorie A sont les suivants:

Rubrique 1

Les armes et les éléments d'arme interdits à l'acquisition et à la détention qui relèvent de la catégorie A1 sont les suivants:
1° Armes à feu camouflées sous la forme d'un autre objet;
2° Armes à feu de poing, quel que soit le type ou le système de fonctionnement, cumulant les caractéristiques suivantes:
- permettant le tir de plus de 21 munitions sans qu'intervienne un réapprovisionnement;
- accompagnées d'un système d'alimentation de plus de 20 cartouches;
3° Armes à feu d'épaule, quel que soit le type ou le système de fonctionnement, cumulant les caractéristiques suivantes:
- permettant le tir de plus de 31 munitions sans qu'intervienne un réapprovisionnement;
- accompagnées d'un système d'alimentation de plus de 30 cartouches;
4° Armes à feu à canons rayés et leurs munitions dont le projectile a un diamètre maximum supérieur ou égal à 20 mm à l'exception des armes conçues pour tirer exclusivement des projectiles non métalliques;
5° Armes à feu à canon lisse et leurs munitions d'un calibre supérieur au calibre 8, à l'exclusion des armes de catégorie C1 ou D2 classées par arrêté conjoint des ministres de la défense, de l'intérieur et des ministres chargés des douanes et de l'industrie;
6° Munitions dont le projectile est supérieur ou égal à 20 mm, à l'exception de celles
utilisées par les armes classées en catégorie D 1°;
7° Eléments de ces armes et éléments de ces munitions;
8° Système d'alimentation d'arme de poing contenant plus de 20 munitions;
9° Système d'alimentation d'arme d'épaule contenant plus de 30 munitions;
10° Armes ou type d'armes présentant des caractéristiques techniques équivalentes et qui, pour des raisons tenant à leur dangerosité, d'ordre ou de sécurité publics ou de défense nationale, sont classées dans cette catégorie par arrêté conjoint des ministres de la défense, de l'intérieur et des ministres chargés des douanes et de l'industrie.

Rubrique 2

Les armes relevant des matériels de guerre, les matériels destinés à porter ou à utiliser au combat les armes à feu, les matériels de protection contre les gaz de combat, qui sont classés en catégorie A2, sont les suivants:
1° Armes à feu à répétition automatique, leurs éléments essentiels spécifiquement conçus pour elles et tout dispositif additionnel permettant le tir en rafale;
2° Munitions à projectiles perforants, explosifs ou incendiaires et leurs éléments…
18° Armes ou type d'armes, matériels ou type de matériels présentant des caractéristiques techniques équivalentes classés dans cette catégorie pour des raisons de défense nationale définies par arrêté conjoint des ministres de la défense, de l'intérieur et des ministres chargés des douanes et de l'industrie.

Article 2. Sub-section 1. Weapons of Category A

Weapons of war and firearms, whose acquisition and possession are prohibited, that are under category A are the following:

Section 1. Category A1

Firearms and components, whose acquisition and possession are prohibited, that are under category A1 are the following:

1° Firearms disguised as another object;
2° Handguns, whatever the type or operating system, combining the following characteristics:
- capable of shooting more than 21 rounds of ammunition without reloading;
- with a magazine of more than 20 cartridges;
3° Long guns, whatever the type or operating system, combining the following characteristics:
- capable of shooting more than 21 rounds of ammunition without reloading:
- with a magazine of more than 30 cartridges;
4° Rifled firearms and their ammunition whose projectile has a maximum diameter superior or equal to 20mm, except firearms designed for exclusively shooting non-metallic projectiles;
5° Smooth bore firearms and their ammunition of a gauge superior to 8, except firearms of category C1 or D2 listed by joint order of the Ministers of Defence, of the Interior, and of the Ministers in charge of Customs and Industry;
6° Ammunition whose projectile is superior or equal to 20mm, except those used by firearms listed in category D 1°;
7° Components of these firearms and components of such ammunition;
8° Handgun magazines [capable of holding] more than 20 rounds of ammunition;
9° Long gun magazines [capable of holding] more than 30 rounds of ammunition;
10° Firearms or type of firearms with equivalent technical characteristics and which, because of the danger they represent to public order or security or national defence, are listed in this category by joint order of the Minister of Defence, of the Interior and of the Ministers in charge of Customs and Industry.

Section 2. Category A2

Weapons related to weapons of war, materials designed to carry or use firearms in combat, materials against combat gas, that are under category A2 are the following:
1° Automatic repeating firearms, their essential components specifically designed for them and any additional device allowing burst shooting;
2° Armour-piercing, incendiary and expanding ammunition and their components…
18° Firearms or type of firearms, materials or type of materials with equivalent technical characteristics listed under this category, because of the danger they represent to national defence, by joint order of the Ministers of Defence, of the Interior and of the Ministers in charge of Customs and the Industry.
