Article 4

Les armes à feu font l'objet, lors de leur fabrication, d'un marquage comportant l'indication du fabricant, du pays ou du lieu de fabrication, de l'année de fabrication, du modèle, du calibre et du numéro de série. Elles font également l'objet, avant leur mise sur le marché, de l'apposition des poinçons d'épreuves selon les modalités prévues par les stipulations de la convention du 1er juillet 1969 pour la reconnaissance réciproque des poinçons d'épreuves des armes à feu portatives.

Les armes à feu appartenant à l'Etat font en outre l'objet, en cas de cession, d'un marquage portant l'indication de cette cession.

Les conditionnements élémentaires de munitions complètes destinées à des armes à feu font l'objet, avant leur mise sur le marché, d'un marquage comportant l'indication du nom du fabricant, du numéro d'identification du lot, du calibre et du type de munitions.

Article 4

Firearms are subject, during their manufacture, to marking which indicates the manufacturer, the country or the place of manufacture, the year of manufacture, the model, calibre and serial number. They are also subject, before being put on the market, to the apposition of a proof mark under the conditions provided for in the Convention of July 1st, 1969, for the Reciprocal Recognition of Proof Marks on Small Arms.

Firearms belonging to the State are also subject, in case of transfer, to marking which indicates the transfer.

The elementary packaging of complete ammunition designed for firearms are subject, before being put on the market, to marking which indicates the name of the manufacturer, the identification number of the lot, the calibre and type of ammunition.
