Artículo 49. Marcajes - cañones, marcos y cajones de mecanismos

Para los marcajes de cañones, marcos y cajones de mecanismos importados se procederá de la manera siguiente:

a) Posteriormente al desalmacenaje en las aduanas del país los cañones, marcos y cajones de mecanismos serán trasladados a la DIGECAM, para su registro.
b) A las piezas que no posean estampado el número de serie, se les grabará un número de serie que le asigne la DIGECAM, a costa del propietario.
c) La DIGECAM extenderá una tarjeta de registro del componente la cual debe contener: nombre del propietario, dirección, tipo de componente, marca, modelo, número de serie, arma en la cual puede ser utilizado, el calibre y largo del cañón.
d) Posteriormente los componentes serán entregados a su propietario.
e) Para vender los cañones, marcos y cajones de mecanismos se deberá solicitar autorización a la DIGECAM, con el objeto de realizar el registro correspondiente al nuevo propietario, debiéndose obtener la huella balística correspondiente.

Article 49. Marking - Barrels, Frames, and Receivers

Imported barrels, frames, and receivers shall be marked as follows:

a) Following clearing by Customs, barrels, frames and receivers shall be transferred to DIGECAM in order for them to be registered.
b) For parts that do not have a stamped serial number, a serial number shall be assigned by DIGECAM, at the expense of the owner.
c) DIGECAM shall issue a registration card of the component that must contain the following: owner's name, address, component type, brand, model, serial number, the firearm in which it can be used, the calibre and length of the barrel.
d) Then components shall be returned to the owner.
e) For the sale of barrels, frames, and receivers, an authorisation must be requested from DIGECAM in order to conduct the appropriate registration of the new owner. This shall include obtaining the corresponding ballistic test.
