Artículo 140. Autoridades Fiscalizadoras - Porte de Arma de Defensa Personal

Las Autoridades Fiscalizadoras Regionales, podrán autorizar el porte de arma de defensa personal válido para todo el territorio Nacional. Por su parte las Autoridades Fiscalizadoras Locales sólo podrán otorgarlo para las comunas de su jurisdicción.

En el caso que una Autoridad Fiscalizadora Local, en mérito a los antecedentes aportados por el solicitante, requiera que sea otorgado un permiso de Porte de Arma de Defensa Personal válido para todo el Territorio Nacional, deberá enviar todos los antecedentes, incluida la entrevista personal, para resolución de la autoridad correspondiente a su jurisdicción.

Article 140. Control Authorities - Carrying of Firearms for Personal Defence

Regional Control Authorities may authorise the carrying of firearms for personal defence throughout the entire National territory. On their part, Local Control Authorities may only grant it to communities under their jurisdiction.

In the event that a Local Control Authority, with respect to background checks provided by the applicant, requires that a permit for the Carrying of Firearms for Personal Defence be granted for the entire National Territory, it must send all aforementioned background checks, including the personal interview [of the applicant], to the corresponding authority of its jurisdiction to come to a decision.
