In Portugal, more than 1.5 million firearms are legally registered. But the PSP, which is updating these records, estimates that, in reality, only 300 thousand weapons actually exist as described. In other words, more than a million pistols, revolvers or shotguns, among others, are 'missing' or have duplicate documents, or were registered without actually existing.
