Romero dijo que se calcula en el país la existencia de 7.300 armas de fuego con registro legal de cuyo número 2.808 se encuentran en la ciudad de Santa Cruz, 2.653 en La Paz, 1.068 en Tarija, 569 en Oruro, 114 en Cochabamba, 48 en Sucre, 32 en Beni, 8 en Potosí y en Pando no existe ninguna.

Con el proceso de registro, añadió que a la fecha se registraron 2.499: Santa Cruz, 1.004; La Paz, 547; Cochabamba, 426; Beni, 177; Chuquisaca, 203; Tarija, 62; Pando, 50; Oruro, 11 y Potosí, 9.
