Virginia Man Greets Eviction Workers with AK-47, Wounds 3, Kills 2, Self

VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia -- A 52-year-old man opened fire on workers coming to inspect the apartment of a relative who was being forced to move, killing two and wounding three before committing suicide, authorities said Thursday. William T. Smith opened the door Wednesday afternoon at the Thalia Gardens complex and began shooting with an AK-47 assault rifle and a Mac 10 9mm semiautomatic handgun, police spokeswoman Margie Long said. Police initially said Smith was being evicted, but Michael R. US Gun Shows, Dealers Supply Gun Runners Who Fuel Mexican Drug Wars

A semi-automatic, 50-caliber weapon and 23 other guns were seized from border arms traffickers by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agents, officials said Friday. The weapons, purchased at El Paso gun shows, gun shops and the Internet, were headed for Mexico to be resold to unknown persons. Officials arrested John Aguilar, a U.S. citizen living in El Paso, who was allegedly a "straw man" purchasing the weapons for Mexican citizens. Also arrested were Jonathan Lopez Gutierrez and Jose Alfredo Amador Villalpando, both of Juárez. Officials said they found the 50-caliber weapon, the largest caliber weapon... ( gunpolicy.org )

Licensed New York Gun Dealer Charged with Trafficking Illegal Handguns

For at least a year, a Staten Island man took advantage of lax out-of-state gun regulations by buying weapons on the Internet and selling them on the street for big bucks, police said. But when a conscientious gun dealer in Florida alerted federal authorities to the scheme earlier this month, they set up a sting and caught 37-year-old Julius Bowens in the act -- and with a cache of weapons in his Clifton home. Bowens was arrested by agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Wednesday after they intercepted the delivery of 9 mm and .380 caliber handguns to his Kimberly Lane house, according to a press release yesterday.
